Things to Do Near Reykjavík | Activities at Hvammsvík
Hvammsvík Hot Springs sits on the shores of Hvalfjörður, also known as the Whale Fjord, only a 45-minute drive from the city, and doubles as an activity hub for exploring Iceland’s west coast. Beyond soaking in the geothermal lagoons, guests can hike coastal trails, paddle board in the fjord, join a Wim Hof breathing session, try ocean swimming, or test their strength in the Icelandic Viking stone-lifting challenge. It’s an easy day trip from Reykjavík or a full weekend base for exploring Þingvellir National Park and the surrounding Whale Fjord region. Some of the activities are seasonal and we recommend checking with us which activities are available during what time beforehand.

The Barn
The Barn is Hvammsvík's indoor community centre for overnight guests, with a pool table, ping pong, and a rotating gallery of Icelandic artwork. It's a cozy gathering spot for evenings when you want a break from the outdoors.

The Gym
Located beneath The Barn, our fully-equipped gym is open 24/7 exclusively for accommodation guests, so you can keep up your routine even while staying by the fjord.
